Vaguely. I do have a small foam Mattel Electronics USFL football. 🙂

Yes.  It was pretty good football.  But I think the XFL is better.  I like the rules being closer to CFL style.  More hitting, better plays and it's faster.  The NFL has become a place where players run the team, make more than some of the owners of crappy teams and have poor "all-me" attitudes.  The XFL rules look like that could be changed as well.  Just play the damn game.

I hope Amico can capitalize on the XFL as well.   Would be pretty cool to play an X and O game on the Amico!

I hate when they use wide angle lenses on DSLR cameras close-up... makes my head look warped and huge!

(how's that for a "softball" for the haters!)   BATTER UP!!!

Challenge accepted!

I think this would be a good multiplayer beat em up.

Nice to to see Locknchase is on your list, I figured if you were to do a dot eating maze game it would be Pacman.

Happy Trails is a ripoff of Konami's Loco-motion.  That sort of puzzle game not interest you?

And you will have Armour Battle; in for Triple Action Battle Tanks but without the bouncing ammunition I'm guessing.

There will be a poker game?

I was born in ‘79 and I was playing the Intellivision when I was 4 and on.  We didn’t have Pac-Man and I never heard of the Locomotion game.  Because of the age I was at the time I never knew what else was available I just knew the games we had.  The planes were always my favorite part of Triple Action so I’m glad that is the one they are bringing back.  I left Baseball off my list even though it was one of my favorites because I am pretty satisfied with the modern Super Mega Baseball series.

Also I have to say to Tommy, I have a ton of respect for you being so transparent with everything and interacting on a regular basis with the community.  I’ve never seen anything like it and wish more company leadership would do the same.

I don't know how an XFL license would fare on the Amico, but the one license that may still be available and that would be gold for Amico is Little League baseball. I mentioned this in an earlier post in this thread, but the LLWS games for the Wii (2008 & 2009) have held their value much better than other third party titles. Plus the international dimension of the game would make it a hit beyond the US. Families would love to play this game together (and still do on the Wii).

I like this idea. I still play Wii Sports baseball with my son and nephews and always wished it was 9 innings not 3 and had trackable stats so I could point out to them how many times I took them yard. 😂

Love this idea and I know the Intellivision folks have said there is going to be leader boards. I am one of the few that enjoyed Microsoft Xbox and the XSN on their first party sports titles. Wouldn’t it be neat if Amico has all sports genres and leagues like this? Maybe even customize them for AA members or have families keep stats!

I also enjoyed the XSN titles and wish that they continued. Hopefully, the Amico can have something similar.

One of the highlights of the OG Xbox! Anxiously awaiting to see what Tommy & Team do with the Amico in regards to their  sports titles.

NEWS ALERT!

You're all fanboys and a part of my cult!

:)

I'll be asking you to drink a very special mix of Kool-Aid I've prepared.  It's an old recipe I dug up from the original code from our epic Kool-Aid action adventure masterpiece from the 80's.  Don't worry if it smells or tastes a little funny at first.  It's an experimental new flavor I'm calling "Angel Sauce".  I hope you all enjoy it.

3 seconds in... He obviously thought that Gillette, Schick, Wilkinson and Bic would fail as well. That off my chest, let me hit play again and see what other bitchy things I can say.

EDIT: Finished and I want my 10 minutes back. First off "mooketing"? I'm not familiar with the nationality of his accent.

The meandering digressions and lack of focus on a central point is jaw droppingly amateurish, The utter lack of self awareness of saying "fan-buoeys" 3 times before he says hates to use the term "fan-buoeys" is hilarious. This YouTuber (never heard of him before) is not saying anything that hasn't already been said by dozens of other YT channels, most of which have better sets than a teenage stoner's bedroom and they also have the bonus of knowing that hair can actually be cut and styled... which allows them to get laid.

Well I only made it 3 minutes into the video and I can’t take the strange amalgamation of listening to a fella who sounds like Dusty Rhodes yet looks like Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top 😳

I kinda thought he sounded like Linus... loved the "look at me through my beard, up my nostrils and into my mirrored sunglasses" perspective.  Thoughtful and innovative.  🙄

Besides that, I thought it was a very close-minded and one-sided opinion of why HE thinks it will fail.  I lasted a little longer.. 5 min... then I skipped around.. and moved on.  Put in on the list of "why did I click" videos.

I really need to make my own one of these days.

With 150+ Amico videos out there, they have more "coverage" than anybody, short of Chris' Atari Creep content - if we don't all pitch in to get up to Mass and sing him "I really need my... Intellivision", Christmas Caroler-

Ahh the Creep. He’s a good buddy of mine and probably more excited about the Amico than Tommy :)

Everybody should go subscribe to him right now. He’s got like 17 videos on the thing.

I think if you guys do go after the xfl license that  you should go get use of the original version of the xfl teams  as well as a bonus that way you could have an 8 team or 16 team season. And if you cant license players for those original version.of xfl teams then those bonus teams can be  created players or whatever. It just would be a neat bonus.

Tommy I know you.mentioned  ea wants a certain amount of consoles sold until they will license any thing. But I was thinking great sports games that they own

Mutant league football and hockey.  And why stop with them let's do what genesis dont.  Let's expand mutant league sports to wrestling and a destruction derby racing game and other sports.

I'm not sure if ea owns the license or.ig it was just the one xbox 360 game. But nba jam

Classic 2 vs 2 basket ball, but how about 3 on 3 or 4 on 4. Why not 5 on five  either as an expansion to amico to allow 10 controllers or  5  players vs 4 players and 1 cpu.

Also going back to my nba jam idea. Tommy is amico limited to 8 players , and are you planning some expansion for more?

I'm thinking a bomberman game especially with wide screen displays today.  Sega saturn bomberman supported 10 player local multiplayer  .  Dreamcast unfortunately  was 4 player local but it had online 16 player.

Can controllers be used as handhelds or portable consoles?

No.  Not really.  They don't have enough memory or speed for anything complex.  But we may put a few easter eggs in there for fun.

As a gay man ( I think a few figured it out by now), I tried to look up some info about the anti-gay stances of Doug TenNapel, and I couldn't find much there. I read a couple of articles, but pretty much all I could find was that he called a trans woman a "fellow" once. Not great, but hardly worth any public outrage over.

My apologies about the political toe dipping here, but I thought I can add some useless insight from my addled brain. The players in the culture wars over the last 4 decades are generally well known and notorious. Pat Robertson, Scott Lively, Fred Phelps, Phyllis Schlafly, Lou Sheldon, many others, and even Mel Gibson. I never heard of Doug TenNapel, or his opinions until I heard about a EWJ remake last summer. He's just not my concern, but I do't speak for all LGBTQ people either.

Yes... like most things in the twitterverse... the entire thing got completely blown out of proportion.  The reality is that Doug has nothing against gay or trans people... in fact... if you go on his YouTube channel he has and invites the LGBTQ community on to talk about stuff.  Does that sound like someone who is trying to promote an anti-gay agenda?  He is of the belief that marriage should only be between a man and a woman.  I disagree with him.  But that isn't a reason to kick him off the project.  He's also a super kind and very talented Christian.  The side that twitter doesn't talk about.  It's the whole cancel culture thing.  But it won't work on me or the rest of the team.  Every one of us here has differences of religion, politics, abortion, gun rights, gay rights, drug rights, etc., etc... I'm not going to "cancel" anyone here because I believe something they don't... or vice versa.  I prefer to have open discussions about our differences of opinion to see if there is middle ground to be found... I find in most cases there is.

The reality about that particular situation is that the Kotaku writer did a really BAD un-journalistic article about how crappy a game Earthworm Jim was.  The article was total crap and only meant to try and slam Doug and his Christian values.  He popped back at the writer and now everyone thinks he hates gay & trans people.  Absolutely not the case.

Thank you for looking into more before making your decision based on what twitter thinks.  If you'd ever like to speak with Doug one on one... I'm sure he would be happy and open to speak with you.  He is a super cool but very outspoken person.

You are almost up to date Tommy ! :)

So some quick one :

1) Do you have answers if I can buy a founder edition, but the black one ?

2) Do you have the video from your speech at CES ?

3) If you are giving 50$ for digital purchases, will it be something like 70$ for Canadians ? ( 300$ will probably cost 400$ in Canadian for us. )

4) If I am planning some vacation during E3. Is it possible to go at your booth and do we need to make reservations ? ( Did E3 is open for everyone ? )

Thank you

1.  No, only the Vintage Woodgrain for the Founder's Edition.

2.  No.  As soon as I do I will post it here.

3.  I suppose.  It will be $50 US.

4.  You would need a ticket to E3.  Our booth will be open to all ticket holders as opposed to behind closed doors like it was in 2019.

There was no applause option.  I considered the trophy but I wanted a full on Tom Hanks "Earn this" moment...

I've been torn here.. you're right, that casual audience pays them no mind.  But that content is still out there, it's the closest thing to "Just calling the news in video gaming as we see it" format that's out there talking regularly about the Amico (nearly 3 hours across multiple comments).  Every blip of news is a new 10 minute take and building upon the narrative they're going with.  With 150+ Amico videos out there, they have more "coverage" than anybody, short of Chris' Atari Creep content - if we don't all pitch in to get up to Mass and sing him "I really need my... Intellivision", Christmas Caroler-style next season, there just isn't any hope for humanity.

Back to Ian and Pat - they are out there raising valid concerns (I think drawing shaky conclusions, and building and expanding arguments on those conclusions) along with associations that aren't really on the level and don't stand much scrutiny.  But they do look and present themselves as an unbiased third party to anyone clicking.  Flack from Pat's August reaction video we know animates certain pushback, they see themselves as the front line in unfurling the Retro VGS/Chameleon, and every project carries some shadow of that.  None of that matters to the casual viewer.

Their videos though get enough views (15,000-20,000) and likes (700+) and comments (150+) for YouTube to recycle and promote to any casual audience searching out "Intellivision Amico" in their search queries later this year.  And the audience comments (I'm long part of their audience) is generally dismissive, reveling as they race to predict how big this will crash.  Not all - they have higher dislike ratios than almost anybody, but it's a relationship with the audience and a tendency to group-think and associate; and there isn't much really addressing *their* points in video form.  And that audience then moves around, commenting and repeating some less-than-fully-baked comparisons - each comment a sounding board, expanding and those comments getting lots of activity, moving to the top.. I guess that's just the nature of social media, but you at least want to have significant in-depth material out there to counter, to share, to reference.

Anyway I've been working forever and a day on an ever-growing Amico piece (an 80+ page script that knows no end) into a more manageable series on the system for YouTube (nobody wants a six hour multi-part series..)  I actually have a dedicated sub-series I'm pulling out of that, with one episode's script already finished, InTunnelVision: What Critics Miss with the Intellivision Amico.  Filming tonight and tomorrow for the on-camera segments, clip segments should be worked on this week.  Short of a dialogue (not happening on that front), or the CEO addressing directly (to which I totally agree isn't needed, can be dismissed as inherently biased), I think it gives a broader audience more points in the comments, something linkable on Twitter, gives convention goers another reference to the 6-10 conventions attended where Pat may be a guest speaker and somebody wants to address.  And since I'm not attacking Pat or Ian (I do actually consume their podcast weekly and agree with points they make more often than not), I think maybe addressing criticisms and questions at face value, is just informational and cleaner.

Will share here when finished.  I do have few years of video production background, but personal branding out there on YouTube - that's definitely a first.  Soooo, wheeee?  It's a race to get this out though, before the Founders Edition is offered.

Anyway I'll keep a lower forum profile for a bit and get crackin.  As a great man who did turrible, turrible (like Charles Barkley-level turrible) things to bratty children once said,

"I hope you'll like it...  I think you will."

Screenshot (418).png

I can't wait to check out your video!!  And thank you for your continued support.
