Thank you.  This is the just the latest example of the complaints of "censorship" we've had to put up with for months now.  When someone critical of the Amico comes here, and misbehaves to the point where we have to take steps—not even a full-on ban, just blocking them from specific threads—it must be because the mods are biased, or because we're "protecting Tommy," or we're "in Tommy's pocket," or "on Tommy's payroll," or any number of other tiresome refrains that they're still hitting us with, months after the fact.  It's just another indication of their bias, against Tommy or against the community or both, and of their refusal to acknowledge the full picture, no matter how often or in how many ways we've tried to explain it to them.

This latest case was a clear violation of our community guidelines and rules, which are unambiguous about forbidding multiple accounts.  AtariAge is Albert's site, and the decision to enforce those rules was his call to make.  If @Papy or anyone else doesn't like it, they should take it up with him, or take their discussions elsewhere.

Well spoken.  It's like the "Tommy can't take criticism" stupidity.

Here's a post from someone yesterday on the Intellivision Invasion Facebook page.  He says...

You know, I’ve watched a lot of videos about the Amico. I have watched people that hate it, love it, and people that used to hate it that now love it. The one thing that annoys me is when people say that Tommy Tallarico can not take criticism. I don’t see this at all. I’ve seen Tommy tell hard core gamers that if all you care about is graphics and hardware then maybe the Amico isn’t for them. What Tommy can not stand about the people who criticize the Amico is when these so called know it alls give out information that is untrue whether intentionally or unintentionally. Of course, Tommy wants to set the record straight and wants to make sure that everyone gets correct information. But whenever he does this, some people think he is bashing the people that are anti-Amico.

Not true at all!

Just my two cents.

My response was/is...

That rhetoric from the hardcore elitist hater trolls basically means I've pushed back on their misinformation and they didn't take too kindly to me correcting them as they feel like I made them look bad. It's their own egos that can't handle it. And that is the most ironic part. THEY are the ones that can't actually take criticism so they deflect by reflecting back their own behavior. Totally weak argument and only goes to show how "advanced" some of these folks really are in the category of maturity and self-awareness.

:)

Awesome!  Thanks!  Welcome to the AA forums and the Q&A thread!  Hope you'll stick around.

Thanks for the fantastic video!  Really appreciate it.  Please let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks for the welcome Tommy. I've been lurking for a long time here and on YouTube. Decided it was time to start engaging. I'll definitely hit you up with some questions in the near future!

@1:04:18 Tommy describes the safe cracker game. It makes me think if how the controller will be used on the other games. My son and I were talking about how games consoles for over 20 years hasn't really changed and that people that are hating on this system are really missing the mark. This controller is really advanced.

So question for Tommy if it is allowed. Can you describe how aome of tye other games will use this controller?  Namely games that haven't been brought up before. The flying game comes to mind

https://youtu.be/YeBWTwNHrpI

Yo!,

It would be difficult for me to list all of the different ways... but I will say this... in the 50+ games we have in development right now... I can't think of 2 games that use the controller the same way.

When outside folks start to acknowledge and wrap their heads around that (only by watching our videos or playing it for themselves) you'll start to see this whole false narrative of "you can play these games on any system" go away real quick.  :)

Your right - that argument is literally like imagining every coloring book in the world comes with an standard 8 pack of Crayola colors (your typical dual analog stick setup) and now Tommy wants to make his own color book and it comes a few colors that are the same (shoulder buttons, force feedback) and bunch that are different (speaker, screen, disc) from than the standard pack. OMG! how are you going color without Black, this thing is abomination and is going to fail!. Then Tommy says, well we designed our coloring book so you don't need black, all of our pictures are really colorful. OMG! you can color anything you want on our coloring books already, and the Swap coloring book has one totally different crayon already - why would anyone need *your* book? Tommy: Well the Swap is great but we wanted to make a really different coloring book that has brighter colors and simpler pictures that are more fun for people of all ages to color in. OMG!... 🙄

Damn!  That was good!!

So @Tommy Tallarico I have a question about the gamestop pre orders .does all versions on console come with.the $25 giftcard or just the.galthy.purple ?  I know you said gamestop was still updating ,so just wanted to know. I haven't peordered yet waiting to go back at work and then I'll be able to (hopfully next 2 to 4 weeks)   Just deciding if I should order at fig or just order at my local gamestop when they re open.as that way I can.pick up and not have to deal with the hassle of taking off workin.hopes its delivered on.time.   :) but.if its not ill.jp

On.ober to.gig.instead .....well.unless the red console was announced by a retailer.

Also .will all exclusive consoles be 299 or is it just gamestop's pricingm.

.  As I thought you were  aiming for 279 for limited edition consoles??   Not a deal.braker at all  just curious.

Just the Galaxy Purple comes with the $25 game card at GameStop.

Correct... the MSRP is $279... but retailers love to have exclusives and added extras.  And to be 100% clear... we are not the ones who set their pricing.  We can suggest... but it's their store.  That's why MSRP stands for "Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price".  I think a lot of folks don't realize that when it comes to retail stores and how they set pricing.  Especially for brand new items.

But if you think about it... $299 with a $25 game card for extra games is actually cheaper than $279 and buying $25 worth of games.  So it's still a deal.   :)

I have a question for Tommy. I’m hoping to Pre-order 6 extra controllers for day one, but I will be wanting 2 of each color (three different colors) with a charging station for each 2 pack. I’m wondering if there are plans to have extra controllers available at launch and if so then what colors are planned ? I’m talking about 2 packs with a charging station included.

Yes!  We will.  Exact colors not confirmed just yet.  Hoping to at least have the 5 we've announced!  I would imagine the Limited Edition colors would be a little more expensive (as the process to make them is more).

Funny you should bring up scooby doo.  I was thinking the other day how we really need a great scooby doo game. A coop with the whole gang. And not like the movies where I feel they ruined the story.  It was always someone in a mask. Keep it true to the originals.

I worked on Scooby Doo for the PS2 about 20 years ago!  Was the Audio Director and did the music, v.o. stuff and sound design.

Really cool jazzy soundtrack (and I had permission to use the Scooby themes!).

Just had a listen (first time in 18 years I think!) and it doesn't sound bad considering we didn't use ANY live instruments (i.e. no budget).  Not bad for all MIDI instruments 20 years ago!

As I was going through the old Scooby music for the first time in 2 decades I was reminded of the credits tune I did.

Pretty funny!  Especial the v.o.'s   ;)

This was before it was cool to do "remix" stuff.

Assuming those colors make it out,  I will take 2 black , 2 white and 2 red with charging stations. That will give me 8 total with my FE. I might even take 2 purple just for fun to collect them all !! 😀😀😀

Today is my 1st year birthday on AtariAge !

I want to thank the creators of this site, which allowed me to learn a lot more about Amico.

So it must have been about a year and a few days that I have been impatiently waiting for the console from Intellivision Entertainment,
which I discovered when I wanted to remember memories on youtube while researching Intellivision.

That's when I found this video ! I was so excited. The games of my childhood would be revived in a better light !

(Less than 500 views at the time, but I am very happy to have stopped there ...)

That's how I discovered Amico and heard for the first time of my life the name of Tommy Tallarico !

Since then, my life has started to change ! Not a day goes by without me inquiring about new features and news about the console.
I brought out my Intellivision Lives games on the PS2.
I made my son discover it, and I talk about Amico very often (maybe a little too much ! Lol) to my friends and family.

So thank you to Tommy Tallarico and his team, and to AtariAge to let me know everything that is going on with this product.

Also thank you to most of the people in this community. It's like making new friends,
and I look forward to continuing to talk about Amico with you, and talk about our impressions of the games when we can finally play them.

And thank YOU for being a part of this awesome community you've all created!!!!!!!!

Tommy remember the baseball card-flipping games we all played in the school yard at OLSH? How about if that gets made into an Amico Game?

It can have different game types. Like closest to the wall,farsies,matchie..etc. And you can learn to crease/fold the cards so they flip and spin in odd directions.

Perfect for the Amico controllers! Maybe having just baseball cards will limit its appeal. How about cards based on Amico games? Game can be played on a 3/4 isometric view maybe.

I think this is something special!

What do ya think?

If you do manage to sort out how to translate the experience to a video game, that also opens up the whole universe of 'dexterity' games like Catacombs, Pitch Car, and others.  Would love to see all of those!

Ok Quick fun question.

During your gaming life what games were system sellers for you?   You know as soon as you saw or played it you had to have that system.

Like many of you I have had a ton of systems, but at various times I wasnt always the earliest adapter so sometimes it was a game that sold me the system.

Three come to mind.

Smurfs Adventure made me have to have a Colecovision

Castlevania made me get a Nintendo literal right then. We stopped playing and we drove to a store and I bought the NES

Resident Evil made me get a Playstation

x1080.jpg

I'm still 20+ pages back....I'll catch up soon.

System sellers for me

Atari2600: Just having a game system at home was the selling point! LOL

Colecovision: Donkey Kong, great pack in game.My 1ST nest gen system.

SNES: Super Mario World!!! Still my absolute favorite Nintendo game.

PS1: Wipeout & Destruction Durby

I'm kinda thinking buying different colors if you are offering as single controllers as well.  Be fun for game nights to have 8 dif colors eventually.

Having one of each  would be cool too ! I assume you have to buy a 2 pack of the same color to get the charging station ? I really want a charging station for each controller.

Tommy,

Will the charging station charge the controllers faster than if charging them on the console?  Can the controllers be charged while the console is in sleep mode if there is a sleep mode?

Also, is the charging station going to be sold separately or does it only come with a controller pack?
